Glass Handbag Ltd is a production company founded by wife and husband team John MacIsaac and Julie Coombe.

Their aim is to produce theatre with the audience at the centre. Theatre with a huge warm heart. Theatre that will make you laugh and make you cry and then make you laugh again!

Glass Handbag are not afraid to entertain.

In short Glass Handbag’s mission is to pack as many laughs as will fit into any given theatre on any given night.

Glass Handbag will also be developing shows for radio and television.

JULIE COOMBE

An actor and writer with a career spanning over three decades in theatre, comedy, radio and television that kicked off at the Royal Lyceum. As an actor Julie has played almost every theatre in the UK in productions including The Slab Boys Trilogy, The Steamie, Tess of the D’Urbervilles, Always, Patsy Cline and The Vagina Monologues. She toured in her hit comedy show Hormonal Housewives in all six of its outings.

  • Julie has appeared in too many pantomimes to mention and also writes panto scripts. She has appeared at the Glasgow Comedy Festival and many times at the Edinburgh Fringe. Julie has worked extensively with BBC Radio Comedy both as a performer and a writer in Sketch Shows, Panel Shows and Sitcoms. On TV Julie has notched up two Scottish soaps High Road and River City. She has appeared on Kids’ TV and in drama such as Hope Springs and in comedy shows like BBC’s version of Saturday Night Live, Live Floor Show and the sketch show Revolver with a host of comedy greats. As a writer Julie has created and co-written with husband John Hormonal Housewives, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun & Housewives on Holiday.

JOHN MACISAAC

Curator, Director & Performer for more than a decade of Melting Pot at The Stand Comedy Club, John has written, directed, produced, acted in and taught comedy and live theatre for over thirty years. As an actor he has appeared at the Royal Lyceum & Traverse Theatres, in pantomime throughout Scotland and in many classic comedy shows at the Pavilion Theatre, Glasgow.

  • He co-wrote “Hormonal Housewives”, “Girls just Wanna Have Fun” & “Housewives On Holiday” for UK tours with Julie and has directed all those shows and pantomime as well as producing at the Edinburgh Fringe and teaching acting at Edinburgh’s Telford College.
